Mr. Phillip D. Poole, age 45, of McCalla, Alabama, passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2011. He was a firefighter for the city of Bessemer at Station #3, Marine veteran of Desert Storm and member of the Sons of Confederate Soldiers. He was a wonderful husband, son and friend and will be greatly missed by all that knew him. He is survived by his wife- Larisa Poole; parents- Howard and Sarah Nell Poole; sister- Stephanie Gamble (Jeff); brother- Michael D. Poole (Susan) Funeral services will on Thursday, August 18, 2011 at 10:00 AM at St. Symeon Orthodox Church in Birmingham with burial to follow in Hickman Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. at McCalla Memorial Funeral Home. McCalla Memorial Funeral Home - directing.
