Nugget Russell Alvin Scarbrough, age 61, of Dahlonega, passed away Monday, Jan. 26, 2009, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness. A memorial service was held Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009 in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Mr. Scarbrough was born June 2, 1947 in Henry County, Georgia to Coley Lee Scarbrough and Ethel Kate McCullough Scarbrough. He retired from Lucent Technologies after 35 years of service and also served in the Army Reserves. Mr. Scarbrough was preceded in death by his father, Coley Lee Scarbrough and his wife, Sally Scarbrough. Mr. Scarbrough is survived by his wife, Debbie Scarbrough, Dahlonega; mother, Ethel Scarbrough; daughters, Lori Allen, Clermont and Lynn Jacob, Gainesville; sons, Kellen Bailey and Graham Bailey, both of Lawrenceville; grandchildren, Russell Cody Biggers, Jonathon Ross Biggers, James Weston Allen, all of Clermont, Ansley Shae Jacob and Andrew James Jacob, both of Gainesville. Memorial Park Funeral Home, Gainesville, was in charge of arrangements.
