SCV Mechanized Cavalry
With a very heavy heart I must announce the passing of my old high school pal Pvt Robert Sanford Morse Bender (SCVMC #1099) of Company D, 3rd Battalion. "Bob" lost a hard fought battle with cancer on 5 Oct. He was a decorated USN Viet Nam veteran helicopter pilot, with over 17,000 pilot hours in rotary and fixed wing aircraft. He is survived by his wife Thais who lives at PO Box 39, Miramar, Puntarenas. Costa Rica, Central America, 5550. He will be buried in a military cemetery with Honors in Costa Rica He will be sorely missed by his many friends and compatriots,
